UK mobile carrier O2 has issued an alert to all those interested in purchasing an iPhone. It seems that stock is dangerously low right now and O2 has issued a statement that online availability of the iPhone may not be possible for an undisclosed time frame. Retail stock is only fairing marginally better, with some iPhones available through O2 retail at Carphone Warehouse. O2 tried to put the hordes of angry Brits at ease by claiming that they are concentrating all their efforts into making more stock available and that they are working in tandem with Apple to make sure that this iPhone drought is solved by the end of the summer. O2 apparently forgot to check their calendar before making this statement. It’s pretty much the end of the summer now. That means either more iPhones will be available in the next few days, (which doesn’t make sense because then O2 would never have come out with the statement in the first place) or they are flat out lying and an iPhone drought could be in the UK for an extended period of time.
