If you’re one of those drivers who likes to multi task while on the road, then listen up – if you live in the UK anyways. The British government has passed a new law called “Causing Death by Careless Driving”. This new law, which makes perfect sense at first glance, will result in tough punishment for those drivers who are distracted by their cell phones while driving, which result in the death of an individual on the road. A great idea considering the multitude of drivers, not just in the UK, that talk, text message and do whatever else on their phone while driving. However, those with some logic wonder why pedestrians do not face the same restrictions. Too often drivers have had to perform some stunt like driving techniques in order to prevent hitting an oblivious pedestrian who is text messaging in the middle of a busy intersection. For this law to work, those using their feet must be affected by the same laws as those using their cars.
