Much like the Huns of ages past, Motorola’s new Atila has been born to fight and bred for war. Unlike the Georgian massacre currently taking place, the Atila is fighting a war of different sorts - a cell phone war against the iPhone. This new all touch cell phone is arguably Motorola’s most ambitious creation to date. Sporting a Qualcomm 7201A chipset, Quad-band (850/900/1800/1900Mhz) GSM/EDGE and Tri-band (850/1900/2100MHz) UMTS/HSPA, the Atila is packing some serious fire power. Downloading with a 1.8Mbps HSUPA indicates that Apple’s monopolistic dominance over the Smartphone market may be coming to an end. The Atila has a cutting edge appearance and is flat out better looking than the iPhone. (In this writer’s opinion anyways) The only drawback for Motorola appears to be unrelated to cell phones. Even with a great new product, can Motorola seriously compete marketing wise with Apple in the Smartphone category? Motorola may have to, if the Atila is going to enjoy any success.
