Sony Ericsson has announced the release of the T700 handset which is scheduled to appear on shelves sometime near the end of the year. A quick scan of the specs of the T700 gives the impression that Sony Ericsson has once again provided us with a solid cellular phone. The T700 is a quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) and a UMTS/HSDPA 2100 MHz device. It will also include a decent 3.2 megapixel camera and Bluetooth to go along with a 512MB memory card. After the initial excitement wears off, some of us big fingered North Americans will surely be appalled by the extremely uncomfortable button configuration of the T700. It would be nice if cell phone manufacturers would actually remember that some people in this world have big hands and that not all of us have fingers the size chopsticks. The only other solution to small cell phones is for us big folk to go on diets, but that probably isn’t going to happen any time soon.
