Microsoft has announced it’s new / old – MobiComp, a mobile-data company that actually was founded back in 2000. MobiComp, based in Braga, Portugal, will become part of Microsoft's main Mobile Communications Business division. As you already figured it out this acquisition will be used to push number of services on the Windows Mobile smart-phone platforms as well as the Windows Live Web services division & ct. MobiComp has developed an array of products: Mobile-Keeper Backup & Restore, Mobile-Keeper Sharing & Communities, and Active mTicker. They're used by companies to back up data stored on mobile phones, submit content from mobile phones to social networks like Facebook, and access news and other mobile media.
