In 1987 singer Greg Attonito, bassist Bryan Kienlen, guitarist Pete Steinkopf, and drummer Shal Khichi founded the Bouncing Souls band. In 1993 they founded their own Chunksaah label, on which they issued their debut album entitled The Good, the Bad & the Argyle the following year. In 1995 the group signed the music contract with the BYO label.
