Former Sentenced and Legenda singer and bass player Taneli Jarva founded the Black League in the middle 90's. He recruited keyboardist and drummer Sir K Luttinen (also ex-Sentenced member), Florida (bass), Alexi Ranta and Maike Valanne (guitars). By the end of the 90's the lineup was complete and the group was ready to begin recording its first album.
