Few white rappers were on the scene before Vanilla Ice. The beastie Boys, of course, are the only success white rappers have seen by the early 90s. But with Vanilla Ice's single Ice Ice Baby and the album To The Extreme, Vanilla Ice became the second white rapper to top the charts in the US, the number 1 spot which he held for weeks with the hit single.
