UB40, named after the government form for claiming unemployment benefits, named their debut album Signing Off, as they were no longer claiming any such benefits. It was a humble production, recorded outdoors, but after its release in 1980 it kept UB40 on the album charts in the UK for 72 weeks, peaking at #2.
