In 1986 American band Slayer established their honorable place as one of the Big Four bands in the thrash metal genre, alongside Metallica, Megadeth and Anthrax. Slayer has done so with Reign in Blood, their album of that year, released on Def Jam Records, since regarded as the heaviest album of all time.
