About Shania Twain
The first album that Shania Twain released was self titled, and distributed through Mercury Nashville. The album, was wholly country-western, Shania was not a crossover artist yet. Although the album was not a major hit, it did well in the United States, and got her the attention of producer 'Mutt' Lange. The two met with the intention of executing an album, and by the end of that year they were married.
