Salt N Pepa came onto the hip hop scene in 1986 as a group of young and witty female rappers. Their debut Hot, Cool & Vicious included some radio hits such as My Mic Sound Nice and Tramp, but it would be Push It, originally a B-Side, that launched the group to mainstream attention.
