Even after the success that she had enjoyed during the seventies, problems with alcohol, business difficulties, and the birth of a daughter effectively sidelined Rickie Lee Jones for much of the eighties. Rickie Lee Jones did not resurface until 1989's sterling Flying Cowboys, produced by Steely Dan's Walter Becker and recorded with the aid of the wonderful Scottish trio the Blue Nile.
