Surreal and upbeat, yowling and fiery – Francis Black molded the sound not only of the Pixies but also of many other bands who heard the Pixies. Of these influenced one can name grunge bands such as Nirvana and British pop-rock bands such as Radiohead, especially in its earlier albums.
