About Notorious BIG
American rapper and hip hop producer who has done as much to shape the rap scene of the east coast, primarily gangsta rap, in his life time as he has posthumously. After his murder in 1997, the entire hip hop rivalry between east coast and west coast rappers escalated, but a precedent was set, and rappers have so far, since then, been careful not to cross the lines. This too can be referred to as the legacy of the Notorious BIG.
