Ne-Yo is the professional stage name of Shaffer Chimere Smith. The Arkansas-born, Las Vegas-raised R&B singer-songwriter Ne-Yo has been nominated for a Grammy Award for his debut album In My Own Words. The album was a real hit in the US, debuting at #1 on the charts, but was not Ne-Yo's first appearance on the music scene, as he has written songs before for many musicians, including Beyonce's Irreplaceable.
