About Madness
Although a ska band, and as such basically limited to fun quirky music, Madness have enjoyed success among a broad fan base and have developed their sound to a broader range of styles as well. Madness turned to pop in the early 80s, which also led to their sole US hit Our House. The band's music have influenced a range of bands, further demonstrating their broad appeal. Blur, Gwen Stefani and Rancid can all be considered Madness-influenced, or simple mad.
