About MC5
Motor City Five, known in short as MC5, consisted of five musicians – two guitarists, bass player, drummer and lead vocalist. Together they played a rebellious version of Detroit rock music that comfortably settles under the classification proto-punk. The promising beginning of MC5 did not last long for them, as the band broke up in 1972, but did live on in general, with Alice Cooper, Motorhead and Mudhoney all among those influenced by their music.
