Loretta Lynn enjoyed cross media success in the late 70's. Well into a highly successful music career as a country female vocalist, with numerous number one albums and singles, Loretta Lynn released an autobiography, Coal Miner's Daughter, named after a #1 record of hers. The successful book became an equally successful movie for which Sissy Spacek, in the role of Loretta Lynn, won an Oscar in 1980.
