Back from a hiatus, taken after the death of producer and secret lover Notorious BIG, Lil Kim was embraced by the hip hop community and fans. Lady Marmalade won Lil Kim mainstream success, and La Bella Mafia, her 2003 album went platinum. Magic Stick, a single off the album featuring 50 Cent hit number two on the Hot 100. Lil Kim was nominated to quite a number of awards for her music, but instead found herself going to jail for lying to a grand jury.
