At the MTV Video Awards ceremony in 1994, in which Lenny Kravitz won the prize for Best Male Video, the singer performed the winning song Are You Gonna Go My Way on stage with Led Zeppelin's bassist John Paul Johns. Lenny Kravitz, who is influenced by Led Zeppelin's sound of rock and hard rock ballads, has by this time conquered the rock stage of the decade, and would continue to do so into the next decade as well.
