Nu metal is largely a 90s product, rising from California and can, with a large degree of accuracy, be traced back to Korn. This popular band brought the genre to the fore, to radio stations, MTV and to fans all over the world. Their debut album, self titled Korn, sold 30 million copies worldwide, spreading nu metal from the get go.
