Dynamite band Killing Joke mixed a load of sounds that created a heavy style of alternative rock, with thick guitars and thudding drums, and Jaz Coleman's over-the-top vocals. Jane's Addiction, Soundgarden and many others have been influenced by Killing Joke, for just such musical elements, which the London band is known for.
