About K.D. Lang
Born Kathryn Dawn Lang, the singer-songwriter we know as K.D. Lang grew up in the Canadian prairies, where she absorbed the country culture, which in turn came forth in her musical career, at least in its first phases. With some changes in her personal life, most notably her coming out as gay and taking a more proud and activist position on the issue, K.D. Lang also abandoned the country style music she was fond of up to then and played more pop music, with her single Constant Craving crossing from Nashville to the national and international charts.
