About Genesis
Phil Collins, a onetime child actor turned drummer and former member of Hickory and Flaming Youth, joined Genesis during their early years. This helped to tighten and toughen the act, and made Genesis sound less like the Moody Blues, as their producer, Jonathan King, intended.
