Emmylou Harris has been a country music singer since the late 60s, leading a successful solo career and with groups, as well as a backup singer for such artists as Neil Young and Elvis Costello. It was a high-profile collaboration with the Byrds' founder Gram Parsons in the early 70s that launched Emmylou Harris' career and exposed her vocal talents to the world for the first time, and certainly not the last.
