About Elliott Smith
Elliott Smith grew up in Portland, learned to play guitar, piano, drums and the harmonica, among other instruments, and composed some of the loveliest, if sad, alternative folk songs of the 90s. Along with his sensitive, whispering voice, Elliott Smith drew a cult following, and later even mainstream success. It wasn't enough, though, to keep him interested and away from drugs, which brought to his suicide in 2003.
