About Dave Brubeck
Dave Brubeck was persuaded in 1951 to take his group which had been a quintet, and to make it into a quartet. Within two years, the band had become surprisingly popular. Paul Desmond's cool-toned alto fit in well with Dave Brubeck's often heavy chording and experimental playing.
