As often happens, when Chicago were at the height of their popularity, there began to be trouble. As mostly happens, the problems were not creative ones, but once connected to money and control. Chicago decided that they would fire their longtime, despotic manager and go off ion their own. However, the band was struck with tragedy when guitarist Terry Kath, a gun enthusiast, accidentally shot himself dead.
