About Chet Baker
Not only did Chet Baker's trumpet playing take him to the peak of popular success in the 50s and onwards, but so did his good looks and singing, which helped him reach a greater audience with his music. His style, playing with many different groups on the West Coast jazz scene, was restrained and intimate, elegant and mellow. Chet Baker's personal life was nowhere near that state, though. He would develop a dependency on drugs, an addiction that would lead to his death.
