For What It's Worth is perhaps the only commercially successful song that Buffalo Springfield have authored in their short stint as a band. But their effect on music would be greater than any number of albums sold or the 25 months they operated together as a group. Buffalo Springfield would produce some of the musicians on Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, and other rock groups of the late 60s.
