Of all the bands that emerged from the punk/new wave movement of the late '70s, Blondie was the most commercially successful. Created by Debbie Harry and guitarist Chris Stein on the foundations of an older group, the rest of the band's line up changed a few times until Blondie released their first eponymous album.
