At the age of 16 Billy Joel was a member of the Echoes and also began playing recordings (in 1965). Joel played piano on several recordings produced by George "Shadow" Morton (including the Shangri-Las' "Leader of the Pack"). Also several records were issued by Kama Sutra Productions.
