Few bands in history can claim to have influenced rock n' roll as The Animals have. Few can claim a single song to have had such an impact as their cover of House Of The Rising Sun has. Ironically, it was the band's success on the charts and in sales that led to their demise. Their music was too commercial for their taste and they sought a more powerful sound. Along with changes in the lineup, The Animals soon came to the end of the road in their original formation.
